Our History

Our group was formed in 2005 in Langley, B.C. We held several meetings to decide what kind of social club we wanted to have and what type of activities interested us.   Our  first event was a Pot Luck Picnic that was held  at City Park in Langley in  July  2005.  We  had our First Anniversary picnic in July 2006 and our Second Anniversary  Picnic was  held  in August  2007.  We are heading for another picnic in the Summer 2008.

We have  attended many plays, musical events, group dinners and we have gone bowling several times now.   We have also enjoyed many fish & chips evenings and wing nights with our new found friends. We enjoy an ethnic dinner from time to time at different restaurants in the Fraser Valley recommended by our members. 

We have had a  wonderful Pig Roast  in May 2006 attended by over 50 people  at a local Langley property and we had our second Pig Roast attended by over 65 people at a private residence in Cloverdale in June 2007.     A great success and definitely a fun evening.    

Several of our members enjoyed evening cruises and a dinner/dance on the Paddle Wheeler that left  from New Westminster Quay on  beautiful summer evenings in July and August.    

We attend many  dances  as a group and we find that going  together as a group is a fantastic way to go, since we never lack for a dancing partner or someone to chat with.  We like a  non-pressured environment - just like how singles used to meet singles in the "good old days" - naturally - where similar interests formed new aquaintances and friendships.   

Summers keep us  busy with barbeques as well as Pot Luck picnics and other outdoor events.        

As more members join we welcome them to come along with us and the fun just keeps rolling along.  

We hold our Meet & Greet evenings occassionally on Friday nights in Langley at a members home.     We find that Meet & Greets  are  another great way to meet people in a smaller yet relaxed environment.

New happenings are always encouraged - all that is needed is someone with an idea to get it started.
